MISSISSAUGA

LORNE PARK
BUNGALOW
RENOVATION

In the prestigious neighbourhood of Lorne Park, Mississauga, lies an existing 1950's modernist-era bungalow that is in need of some TLC and a contemporary face lift. The home owner wanted to maintain as much of the homes original character, while incorporating new exterior finishes such as black metal, stone, and cedar. The existing west wing of the home, which has a flat roof and low ceilings, felt unbalanced when viewed against the multitude of roof peaks on the east side. A new roof peak was introduced that will act as a book-end, will provide symmetry, and will create a soaring cathedral ceiling for a new master ensuite. All of the home's existing overhangs and eaves will be removed to provide a seamless transition between the roof and exterior walls. The extensive mature vegetation and natural features on the .6 acre property will be preserved so as not to affect the vast wildlife that live here.
